Spread your wings

Spread your wings butterfly 🦋

🔆The three biggest things I’ve learned on my first official week as a public health nurse:

1. If your team already loves you, they will offer to feed you. Multiple times. Take them up on it! Nourish yourself and be good to your body, mind and spirit!

2. A year or two of acute/med-surg experience is valuable and any nursing skills are transferrable but not NECESSARY. If you have a passion, go right for it. Don’t let anybody stop you. It will click right with you. You will know.

3. You will be expected to learn a lot and it will feel overwhelming and exciting and like butterflies in the pit of your stomach. That’s okay. You were made for this and you’re making a difference. They’ve welcomed you. Go and serve 🌻

☀️Today I am grateful for an opportunity to serve in a capacity I truly have a heart for. 💙

🔆During the month of November, I’ll be sharing a daily gratitude and reflection on what I’m learning as a lead nurse. Please comment below what you’re grateful for!
